Okobo Development Union (ODU)
The Okobo Development Union (ODU) is a community-focused organization founded in 1935 to serve as a unifying platform for Okobo people. The Union was founded under the leadership of its first President, Late Etubom Okon Ita Mbe, whose vision laid the foundation for collective progress and community representation.

Since its establishment, ODU has remained committed to representing the collective interests of Okobo people and promoting their progress, well-being, and sustainable development.

The Union is built on the principles of unity, cooperation, and shared responsibility. It works to foster patriotism, mutual understanding, love, peace, unity, and cooperation among Okobo indigenes, strengthening social harmony within the community.

A central focus of the Okobo Development Union is the mobilization of financial, natural, and material resources to support the economic, socio-cultural, and educational advancement of Okobo. Through collective effort and community participation, the Union seeks to drive initiatives that contribute to long-term development.

ODU also acknowledges and encourages deserving sons and daughters of Okobo who contribute meaningfully to the progress and development of the community. By recognizing such contributions, the Union promotes a culture of service, leadership, and commitment to community growth.

In addition, the Okobo Development Union encourages the active participation of Okobo indigenes in the social and economic programmes of the Nigerian nation, reinforcing civic responsibility and national development.

Founded in 1935 and guided by the pioneering leadership of Late Etubom Okon Ita Mbe, the Okobo Development Union continues to stand as a platform for unity, representation, and community advancement, dedicated to building a stronger and more prosperous Okobo.
